The Rams had a lot of turnover bad luck last season, as many turnovers are random. I look for better results this season with the Rams turnover fortunes changing for the better. Detroit is the lone remaining winless team, but the Lions are 3-3 ATS and threw away two wins by playing prevent defense with less than a minute left to eventually lose on long field goals against Baltimore and Minnesota. Coach Dan Campbell has the team playing hard, and the Lions have been competitive and are getting too many points in this matchup that will see each team playing against its former quarterback in Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford. Goff went 28 of 42 for 202 yards against Cincinnati with no TDs, and the Lions struggled to run the ball. Los Angeles is in a slight letdown situation after two big road wins over Seattle and the New York Giants. Stafford completed 22 of 28 with an interception against the Giants, who are 1-5. Detroit is 13-6 ATS its last 19 games after a double-digit home loss, and the Rams are 1-4 ATS their last five games versus teams with losing records, 0-5 ATS overall after winning by at least 14 points. The LA Rams have started the season at 10-1 and have an elite offense but the secondary has suffered injuries and has been highly vulnerable lately. They survived the stiffest and strongest part of their schedule coming off 4 straight games vs. Green Bay, New Orleans, Seattle, and Kansas City. This is a huge letdown spot for the Rams as they head to Detroit to take on the lowly Lions who are just 4-7. Detroit has an experienced QB in Matthew Stafford that can succeed against the Rams secondary and are catching the Rams who will likely not be bringing their "A" game here could keep this one a lot closer than many think.
