Dallas Cowboys vs San Francisco 49ers Point Spread Picks

Dallas comes off a bye week after getting embarrassed at home by the Lions, 47-9. But they're 3-0 SU, 2-1 ATS on the road. San Francisco has all kinds of issues with a losing record. They come off a 28-18 loss at home to the Chiefs as a favorite, losing wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk for the year, plus WR Deebo Samuel (pneumonia) was limited to four snaps. Those two are the third and fourth leading receivers for QB Brock Purdy (9 TDs, 7 INTs). The defense is 27th on third down (45.56%) and the 49ers are on an 8-14 ATS run. Play Dallas. 

Dallas looks well-prepared to avenge its 19-12 loss in the divisional round of the playoffs last season after dismantling New England 38-3 in Week 4 and handing Bill Belichick the worst loss in his 24 years with the Patriots. DaRon Bland returned one of his two interceptions 54 yards for a TD and Leighton Vander Esch returned a fumble 11 yards for a score and the Patriots were outgained 377-253. The Cowboys have won and covered three of four, including an inexplicable loss to Arizona in Week 3, but they bounced back convincingly last week. San Francisco is 4-0, but it has played opponents with a combined record of 6-10 and Dallas will easily be the most potent offense the 49ers have seen this season. Dak Prescott was 28 of 34 for 261 yards with no interceptions against the Patriots although that doesn't match Brock Purdy's performance against Arizona. Purdy was 20 of 21 for 283 yards as the Niners won 35-16, but he'll be facing a Dallas team that is #1 in scoring defense with 10.25 per game. Dallas is 9-1 ATS its past 10 October games and 20-9 ATS overall versus the NFC. San Francisco is 2-9 ATS against a non-divisional conference team with revenge that is off a straight-up and ATS win. San Francisco has won 10 in a row after defeating Seattle 41-23 while racking up 505 yards of offense. Brock Purdy finished 18 of 30 for 332 yards and no interceptions, with three touchdown passes and one rushing TD. When do we give this guy the credit he is due? The 49ers have averaged 31.7 points during the streak and the last four have gone OVER by an average of 20.9 points. Dallas has the difficult task of playing a road game on Monday night and then going on the road again to play on a short week, while the Niners will have two more days of rest than the Cowboys after playing on Saturday. San Francisco was #5 in the NFL in total yards and #6 in points scored with 26.5 per game. Dallas held Tampa Bay to 51 yards rushing, but the Niners are ready to unleash Christian McCaffrey, who rushed for 119 yards on 15 carries, including a 68-yard run against the Seahawks. It took 30 years for the Cowboys to win a road playoff game and asking them to do it twice within a week is tough, even though Dak Prescott had one of his best games against the Buccaneers. San Francisco has gone OVER five straight home games and four of five playoff home games. Dallas is 7-2 OVER following a win and 4-0 OVER after winning by at least two touchdowns in their previous game. Dallas finished its season winning five of its last six games, including a 51-26 blowout against the Eagles as Dak Prescott threw for a career-high five touchdown passes while completing 21 of 27 passing for 295 yards with no interceptions. It was mostly against Philadelphia backups, but the Cowboys still come into the playoffs on a high note after bouncing back from a loss to Arizona the week before. San Francisco had to come back from a 17-0 deficit and go to overtime to beat the Rams, 27-24, and eke into the postseason. The Cowboys have the #1 offense in the league in total yards per game (407.0), and they are #9 in rushing yards (#2 in passing yards). Dallas has plenty of talented wide receivers, including Cedrick Wilson, who had two TD catches against the Eagles, and the 49ers' secondary will still have to be concerned about Amari Cooper, who caught five passes for 79 yards against the Eagles. Jimmy Garoppolo is still nursing a sore thumb on his throwing hand, and the Cowboys will have to be ready to contain Elijah Mitchell, who ran for 85 yards on 21 carries against the Rams. The 49ers have gone UNDER four of their last five games, and Dallas is 7-3 UNDER its last 10 games. San Francisco has the #3 defense and has also stayed UNDER in its last four playoff road games. San Francisco is on a 1-5 SU/ATS run, averaging just 19.8 points, and losing 23-15 to Washington Sunday as a favorite. QB Jimmy Garoppolo is still out (ankle), and they turned the ball over three times against Washington, the seventh straight game and ninth this season with multiple turnovers. Dallas is home, two games behind NFC East-leading Washington with three games left, and is coming off a 30-7 win at Cincinnati. The Cowboys get key players back in the secondary with cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie and Trevon Diggs (foot) both returning.
