Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Point Spread Picks

New York interim coach Mike Kafka has no interest in tanking as he tries to prove that he is capable of being a permanent head coach and shedding the interim title. He plans to play his starters in the season finale, and the Giants come off a dominating 34-10 win over Las Vegas in what was described as the "Tank Bowl". Jaxson Dart was 23 of 30 for 207 yards with no interceptions, and the Giants outgained the Raiders 343-231. Dallas is #4, scoring 28.4 points per game, but unfortunately, it is dead last in scoring defense, allowing 29.8 points. New York is 5-1-1 ATS in its past seven games after allowing 250 total yards in its previous game and 4-1-1 ATS after yielding fewer than 90 yards rushing. The Cowboys have lost three of four (0-4 ATS), although they do come off a 30-23 win over lowly Washington. The Giants have covered four of five following a win of at least 14 points dating to previous seasons. Dallas is 5-15 ATS in its past 20 January games. New York is in revenge after blowing the first meeting in overtime. Take the Giants.

A divisional rivalry game. Last year's meetings were dogfights in final scores of 20-15 and 27-20. The Giants upgraded the quarterback position with Russell Wilson, who threw for 168 yards and no interceptions in the opener while rushing for 44 yards. Dallas plays its second straight divisional contest after a loss at rival Philadelphia, 24-20, under new coach Brian Schottenheimer. QB Dak Prescott was 21-of-34 for 188 yards and no TDs. They didn't do anything in the offseason to improve the offensive line, and there are still plenty of question marks on a defense that was 29th in 2024 against the run. Dallas took advantage of some unbelievable special teams blunders by Washington and won 34-26 on Sunday to snap a five-game slide. More importantly, the Cowboys clearly have not given up, as they actually played one of their best games of the season. Backup QB Cooper Rush was solid, completing 24 of 32 passes for 247 yards with no interceptions. That's more than we can say about the horrid Giants, who not only appear to be going after the No. 1 draft pick, but are not close to having an NFL-caliber quarterback. Tommy DeVito (forearm) went 21-for-30 for 189 yards with no TDs, and New York was routed 30-7 by Tampa Bay, which had lost four straight. Drew Lock is inline to start in Dallas. The Giants have allowed 24.6 points per game during their six-game losing streak and they have gone OVER their past five trips to Dallas. The Cowboys are 7-3 OVER in November games and 10-2 OVER overall following an ATS win. New York has lost 11 of 15 meetings with Dallas and the Giants have lost 10 of their past 13 road contests. Dallas has the right opponent to get back on track as it has defeated the Giants six times in a row (5-1 ATS) and 13 of the past 14 meetings, including six of the past seven on the road. The Cowboys won by a combined score of 89-17 in last year's two meetings and Dallas is 22-3 ATS its past 25 games as a division favorite of more than two points. Dak Prescott leads the NFL with 851 passing yards with four touchdowns, but he has been sacked nine times. New York won for the first time 21-10 over Cleveland with Daniel Jones completing 24 of 34 for 236 yards. The Giants rushed for 112 yards on 3.5 yards per carry and they have averaged only 15 points per game this season. Dallas is 6-1-1 UNDER its past eight games as a road favorite and 12-3 UNDER overall after allowing at least 150 rushing yards its previous game. New York has gone UNDER five of its past six September games and five of six Week 4 games. The Dallas defense has been embarrassed two weeks in a row and look for it to atone for it on Thursday night. Take the Cowboys to cover, and bet this one to stay UNDER.

The New York Giants offense is a mess — one reason this team is 8-1 to the UNDER this season. They lost starting QB Daniel Jones, and also his backup Tyrod Taylor. That means Tommy Devito gets his first start. He will be in trouble as this Dallas team gets pressure on the QB 45% of all dropbacks. The Giants are averaging a woeful 11.2ppg and coming off scoring 10 or fewer points in three of their last four games and four of their last six. The Giants are staying in recent games because the defense has been stingy. The Giants defense has held three of their last four opponents to 14 or fewer points. I just don't see a lot of points here, and I expect the Giants to do a lot of running behind Barkley. Make the play UNDER the total.
