Cleveland's defense allowed 34 points a week ago, but Tampa Bay had four turnovers that made it a track meet, losing 33-27 to the Cincinnati Bengals. That kind of carelessness with the ball doesn't usually disappear from one week to the next, and a Browns defense that forces even a couple of the same mistakes keeps this well within range on its own. Cleveland's offense has real questions after last week's blowout, with Deshaun Watson now the settled starter over Shedeur Sanders. It's a lot to ask of a Tampa Bay team that hasn't shown it can protect the football against a good opponent, and that alone is enough to keep this closer than the line suggests. Tampa Bay had an impressive game defensively in its 16-14 win, holding the Dolphins to 280 total yards. Ryan Griffin completed 14-of-21 for 201 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions for the Buccaneers. Tanner Hudson had six catches for 93 yards and Blaine Gabbert was 5-of-12 for 42 yards as Bruce Arians got his first win with Tampa Bay and he now is 12-9-2 ATS in preseason. Jameis Winston played one series and was 2-of-4 for 24 yards and Arians obviously is not taking any chances and risking injury by playing him a lot in preseason. Cleveland has already suffered several key injuries and coach Freddie Kitchens is being cautious and not playing many regulars, including his top two quarterbacks, Baker Mayfield and Drew Stanton. Garrett Gilbert completed 13-of-19 for 151 yards and two touchdowns and David Blough finished 7-of-12 for 74 yards and a touchdown. The game stayed UNDER the total and Tampa Bay went UNDER by 14 points against Miami. The Buccaneers have motivation to play well in front of the home fans while the Browns just want to get to the regular season with no more injuries.
