Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks Point Spread Picks

Seattle's playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after blewing an opportunity to beat the Vikings at home on Sunday. Geno Smith threw for 314 yards, but he also had two more interceptions bringing his total to 15 this season along with 45 sacks. Smith has his worst passer rating since becoming Seattle's starting quarterback and he is dealing with a knee injury. Sam Howell would replace him if Smith can't go, and Howell had a disastrous outing in relief of Smith against Green Bay in Week 15. He completed only four of 14 for 24 yards and an interception. Chicago has nothing left to play for other than to spoil other teams' playoff possibilities, and Seattle is 3-8 ATS its past 11 games against the NFC North. The Seahawks have averaged only 19.9 points their past eight games. Caleb Williams threw for 334 yards and two TDs with no picks for the Bears against Detroit, and Chicago appears to have the edge at the QB position in this matchup. Take the Bears.

Chicago defeated Kansas City, 19-14, last week, but it was the defense that led to most of the Bears' points. Linebacker Jack Sanborn had an interception and a fumble recovery in the third quarter that led to a touchdown and a field goal as the game stayed UNDER. QB Justin Fields was four of seven for 48 yards on three possessions and the Chicago D held the Chiefs to just 52 rushing yards. Seattle played its first game without Russell Wilson and lost 32-25 to Pittsburgh as Geno Smith completed 10 of 15 for 101 yards, while Drew Lock went 11-for-15 for 100 yards. The Bears are in a rebuilding mode with new HC Matt Eberflus, and not much is expected from them offensively this season. Trevor Siemian threw for 89 yards while Nathan Peterman passed for 36 yards against the Chiefs. Both are journeymen QBs. The Seahawks are 6-2 UNDER in their last eight preseason games and 5-1 UNDER in their last six preseason Game 2s. Take the UNDER. 

Seattle's defense struggled early on, but it has turned things around allowing 16.6 points per game over the last eight contests. That's bad news for a terrible Chicago offense that is 28th in total yards and points (17.1 per game). They are also 31st on third down (33.3%). Rookie QB Justin Fields (seven TDs, 10 INTs) is battling a sore ankle, and he and Andy Dalton have been sacked 45 times in 14 games, the second-most allowed in the NFL. The Bears are on a 9-4 run UNDER the total and are also 35-17 UNDER after a loss. Plus, Seattle is on a 10-3-1 run UNDER the total. The Seahawks' offense has allowed the fifth-most sacks and is 23rd in scoring, 22nd in rushing, and 30th on third-down (33.9%). The rebuilding Chicago Bears are not ready for prime time with their young QB, blowing a 20-point lead last week. Second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for only 171 yards and was terrible during crunch time in the second half. The Bears are 17-39-1 ATS after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game, as well as 5-16-1 ATS after allowing less than 90 yards rushing the last contest. They face a veteran Seattle quarterback and coaching staff used to winning, at home or on the road. The Seahawks dropped a close one in Denver last week, 27-24, as QB Russell Wilson threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson has thrown at least two touchdown passes in each of his last six road contests. The Seahawks are 10-3-2 ATS following a loss, as well as 8-3-1 ATS in these Monday Night TV showdowns with the whole world watching.
