Chicago Bears vs Dallas Cowboys Point Spread Picks

Chicago has a couple of things going for it, and that is teams that get humiliated one week often come back with a good effort the next, and the Cowboys are coming off an exhausting overtime win over the Giants. The Bears are 7-1-1 UNDER in their past nine games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game. If Caleb Williams can get more time from his offensive line, he can take advantage of the Cowboys' secondary. Dallas is third-to-last in the NFL in pass defense and in total yards allowed. Also, the Bears need to get some pressure on Dak Prescott to force some turnovers or hurried throws. The fact that Chicago has played poorly in its first two games and this matchup is still rated nearly even by the oddsmakers should be a telling factor. Take the Bears on the moneyline and the UNDER.

It took awhile, but the Dallas offense got going in the second half in Dak Prescott's return from injury and the Cowboys downed the Lions 24-9 while taking advantage of two interceptions and two lost fumbles by Jared Goff. Prescott completed 19 of 25 for 207 yards with no interceptions and he will be in even better form this week with a game under his belt following his time off. The Dallas defense is #6 in the NFL in yards allowed (305.3 ypg) and #2 in scoring defense (14.3 ppg). Justin Fields had his best game of the season as Chicago beat the Patriots 33-14 on Monday night as he threw for 179 yards and a touchdown and ran 82 yards for another score. New England helped out though by throwing three interceptions and Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe were ineffective most of the game. That won't happen with the Cowboys, who are 5-2 ATS even with Prescott out for most of the year and 7-1 ATS their past eight games versus teams with losing records and 17-5 ATS against NFC teams. The Bears are 7-17 ATS their past 24 games versus the NFC. Take the Cowboys.

Dallas as a home favorite has been one of the worst bets in football in recent years. Unfortunately for Dallas fans, that is likely to continue with the Cowboys favored by at least a touchdown in this matchup. Since 2012, Dallas is 5-17 ATS in that role and Chicago probably will start Brian Hoyer instead of injured Jay Cutler and Hoyer has been the better of the two this season. Hoyer completed 9-of-12 passes for 78 yards against Philadelphia on Monday night. Last year he helped the Houston Texans make the playoffs when he threw for 2,606 yards with a 60.7 percent completion rate in 11 games. The Bears have covered the spread in six of their last eight road games and the Cowboys are 0-6 ATS after an ATS win dating to last season. Dallas was actually outyarded in last week's win at Washington and the Redskins averaged 4.8 yards per rush. Kirk Cousins was 28-of-46 for 364 yards with one interception for the Redskins. Rookie Dak Prescott was impressive in completing 22-of-30 for 292 yards in his first road start, but the Cowboys still are 1-10 ATS as home favorites of at least seven points under Jason Garrett. Chicago has gone OVER the total in 22 of its last 32 road games and these teams have gone OVER the last five times they've met. The points loom large in this matchup, play the Bears and take the OVER.

With this line creeping up, I am gonna make a play on the underdog Bears. Dallas showed some warts vs. Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day, giving up 33 points while managing just 10. It was a brutal loss on the national stage to a hated rival that knocked the Cowboys out of first place in the division and in their conference. Guess when they get to seek revenge? Next week! So you this could be a game that doesn't get the full hearts and minds of Cowboys players and coaches. I think the Bears will be more fired up as they seek some respect. Since Tony Romo took over for the Cowboys, they are just 41-57 ATS as a favorite. Under Jason Garrett, the Cowboys are 12-27 ATS as chalk and 9-18 ATS vs. teams with losing records.
