Carolina won its first three games, though two were against the Jets and Texans. Reality set in last week in a 36-28 loss to Dallas, giving up 245 yards rushing, 7.2 yards per carry! New QB Sam Darnold threw a pair of picks in the game, and the team is still without star RB Christian McCaffrey. The secondary is dealing with a lot of injuries, prompting them to trade for CB Stephon Gilmore this week, though he won't be healthy enough to play for a while. Philadelphia won last year's meeting 28-23 and it went OVER by seven points and the Eagles were a three-point underdog. The Eagles played their best game of the season in their 34-13 victory over the New York Giants last Thursday and they'll have three extra days to prepare for this one. That game went OVER the total and Carson Wentz finished 26-of-36 for 278 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions. The Eagles also rushed for 108 yards on 31 carries and they are now 14-6 ATS their last 20 games versus NFC teams. Carolina played a sloppy game in a 23-17 loss to Washington, which jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead. Cam Newton passed for 275 yards and two touchdowns, but the Panthers had three costly turnovers, including an interception by Newton and two fumbles by D.J. Moore. Five of the last six meetings have gone OVER and the Panthers had gone OVER three straight before the Redskins game. Carolina is 9-4 OVER its last 13 games going back to last season and 15-7 OVER its last 22 October games. Philadelphia's offense played its best game so far this season and Wentz looks nearly fully recovered from last year's season-ending injury. Carolina's come-from-behind win over the Seahawks last week moved the Panthers to 5-0. While that has happened frequently to Seattle this year, this is the first time it happened to them at home this season, blowing a fourth-quarter lead. The fact is, it was the first time Seattle lost a regular season game at home after leading entering the fourth quarter since November of 2011, and just the second time going all the way back to 2006. This is going to be a very difficult and emotional spot for the Panthers after their biggest win of the season to date, and they have to be feeling a little unbeatable and fat and happy. Philadelphia got a bad game out of Sam Bradford vs. the Giants last week. Bradford threw three INTs, normally a death sentence for the win column, but after allowing the Giants to march the field on their first possession, the Eagles shut them out the rest of the way. The Philadelphia offense gets a lot of attention, but it has actually been the defense making the most noise. The Eagles have forced 16 turnovers on the season, and no team has topped 26 points against them through six games, and the last two have combined for a total of 24 points. The Eagles turned the Panthers over a lot last season, and have a 4-1 ATS record in their last five in this series.
