Buffalo Bills vs Washington Football Team Point Spread Picks

Washington's defense kept them in games last season, second in the NFL in yards allowed, and they're playing well again. The Washington Football Team lost 20-16 to the Chargers and have a 30-29 victory over the Giants. Washington has covered five of six as an underdog, and coach Ron Rivera is 19-7 ATS after two or more straight ATS losses. Buffalo QB Josh Allen hasn't had a great start and isn't getting much help from a running game that is #19 in the league. The Redskins own one win on the season, but, they are actually getting better, having covered the number in two straight games. They held San Francisco to 9 points and Minnesota to 19. Over their first five games, the Skins allowed 30.2 points per game. Over the last three, they have cut that back to 14.7. Buffalo started the year 5-1, but it was smoke and mirorrs. The Bills notched those wins vs. the lowly Jets, Giants, Bengals, Titans and Dolphins. Last week we went against them as they were exposed vs. the Eagles, losing 13-31. Now don't get me wrong. Buffalo is a much better team than Washington. But, are they this many points better? With Washington's defense playing as they are, Josh Allen may be in for another struggle. Teams that score under 10 points after scoring fewer than 7 their previous game are 37-16 ATS. No one wants to touch the Skins and there are still believers in Buffalo despite the soft schedule. Buffalo is chaotic and sloppy with Rex and Rob Ryan running the show. After two straight home games, the Bills head out on the road. Even in beating the hapless Giants last week, the offense ran for just 70 yards at 1.9 yards per carry, and allowed three sacks. They lost the opener at home to the Luck-less Colts, scoring just 18 points. It's not a great QB rotation with Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel and rookie Cardale Jones. By contrast, Washington's offense has scored 39 points in two games and this is its second straight home game. The Redskins have a good August QB rotation with Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy. They come off a 22-18 win over the Jets' strong defense, leading 14-2 at the half, despite resting several key starters. McCoy, who learned he was starting as he came out of the tunnel before the game, was 13-of-16 for 159 yards. Wide receiver Rashad Ross was among the standouts for Washington with seven catches, including two touchdowns for 58 yards. Along with Ross, WR Ryan Grant had four catches for 43 yards. QBs McCoy and Nate Sudfeld combined for 23-of-36 passing, 225 yards and three TDs. After holding Atlanta to 79 yards rushing and 2.8 yards per carry in Week 1, the run defense stuffed the Jets, allowing 35 yards rushing for 3.9 ypc. The Redskins are 8-1 ATS in Week 3 of preseason, so grab the home team in a defensive duel. Back Washington and the UNDER.

This is a critical game for both the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. Both teams are 6-7, and if they have playoff aspirations a win in week 15 is a necessity. A quick glance at history shows 6-7 home favorites trying to get to 7-7 have gone 18-18 ATS, while a road dog at 6-7 has gone 19-13 ATS. Washington is off a win but has been mired in a pattern of losing after winning, and winning after losing for eight straight weeks. The Bills are, however, slightly better from the line of scrimmage at 22 yards per game vs. Washington. Washington has six wins and the opponents they have beaten are a combined 33-45, and none of them have a winning record on the season. Buffalo fits a situation which is 45-6 ATS for the this contest.
