Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans Point Spread Picks

John Harbaugh has set an NFL record with 20 preseason wins in a row (18-1-1 ATS), and that winning philosophy will continue especially since the Ravens are off a disappointing, injury-riddled season in which they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Harbaugh will want to reinstill the winning attitude and Tennessee is just 4-7 straight up and 4-6-1 ATS in the preseaosn with Mike Vrabel as coach. Lamar Jackson won't play in this game, but the Ravens have plenty of experience with their backups, Tyler Huntley and Brett Hundley. Rookie Anthony Brown signed as an undrafted free agent in May. Huntley got into seven games last season and threw for 1,081 yards with three touchdowns and Hundley has been around since 2016 although he hasn't played in a regular season game since 2019. Tennessee is 0-4 SU and ATS its past four preseason games against AFC North teams and the Ravens have won 10 straight, including 9-1 ATS their past 10 preseason openers. Harbaugh is 40-12 straight up and 37-14-1 ATS in his preseason career. Ryan Tannehill's backups are rookie Malik Willis and Logan Woodside. The latter played in the AAF in 2019 and threw for 1,353 yards with seven TDs and seven interceptions in seven games and hasn't played in a regular season NFL game. Take the Ravens to cover. 

Baltimore's playoff hopes looked shaky for a while, but the Ravens always seem to get it done in the end and this time they won their final five games to make it into the postseason. The Ravens have allowed a total of only 30 points their last three games as their defense is peaking and they finished it off with a 38-3 annihilation of Cincinnati on Sunday.  Baltimore is #7 in yards allowed and #2 in points allowed with just 18.9 per game. Tennessee allows 27.4 points although the Titans have allowed an average of 34.3 points their last three games. This is a revenge game for Baltimore after it lost 30-24 in overtime to the Titans on Nov. 22. Derrick Henry ran for 113 yards on 28 carries, which actually makes the Ravens defense look like it did a decent job against a 2,000-yard rusher although he did score the winning touchdown. The Ravens have gone UNDER their last five January games and their last seven playoff games as favorites. Baltimore has covered its last six games and seven of its last nine playoff games. The UNDER is 9-4 in Baltimore's last 13 games against the AFC and it's 13-3 UNDER after giving up fewer than 15 points its previous game. Take the Ravens to cover and take the UNDER.

Baltimore finally gets a chance at revenge after getting upset by the Titans in last season's playoffs, and Tennessee looks much less formidable this time around as it has lost three of its last four following its 34-17 defeat against Indianapolis. Ryan Tannehill went 15 of 27 for 147 yards and a touchdown, and Derrick Henry ran for 103 yards on 19 carries in a losing cause. The Ravens will be in a foul mood after a listless performance while losing at New England, 23-17, on national television on Sunday night. It was Baltimore's first road loss in 10 games, and Lamar Jackson had just 55 rushing yards on 11 carries. Jackson will have better luck in this matchup as the Titans are #25 in yards allowed and #18 in rushing yards allowed. The Ravens are #2 in yards on the ground with 164 per game, and Tennessee has not covered its last four road games. The Titans are 3-7 ATS their last 10 games overall and 2-6 ATS versus AFC teams. These a pair of teams that play similar styles: physical, smash-mouth defense, augmented by power running games. Tennessee has a beast in the backfield in RB Derrick Henry (1,540 yards), who just bulldozed the defending champion Patriots (182 yards) in a 20-13 Wild Card upset. Tennessee has won eight of its last 11 games, beating the Chiefs (35-32) and Pats as underdogs. Of the Titans nine regular-season wins, five came on the road, then they went to New England and triumphed. The defense is #12 in rush yards and points allowed (20.7 pg). The Titans are 10-4 UNDER the total in January games. Baltimore topped the Steelers as a home dog the last game, and any winning NFL team off an upset win over a division rival as a home dog is 15-41 ATS when facing another winning team. Baltimore plays great defense, too, at third in points surrendered (17.6 pg), fifth in rushing yards allowed. The Ravens are 13-5 UNDER the total against teams that average 350+ total yards, 22-6 UNDER versus the AFC South, plus 21-10 UNDER against opponents that average 130+ yards rushing. The UNDER is 8-3-1 when these teams clash so look for a close defensive game, one in which the underdog is capable of covering and winning straight-up.
