Baltimore Ravens vs New York Giants Point Spread Picks

The New York Giants were down big to Green Bay last week in London. They shut the Packers out in the 2nd half outside of a give-up safety to win 27-22. That moved the Giants to 4-1 on the season. The problem is the Giants grade out as negative from the line of scrimmage as they are generating fewer yards per play on offense than their opponents average allowing and are allowing more yards on defense than their opponents average on a per-play basis. The Giants have struggled against the run all season, and Baltimore averages 1.3 yards per play running than the average of their opponents allow. New York has plenty to play for, one game behind Washington for first place in the NFC East. Veteran QB Colt McCoy is available while QB Daniel Jones is slated to start after missing last week. The New York defense is solid, #11 in yards allowed, sixth against the run, eighth in points surrendered (22.9 pg). The Giants are on a 22-8 spread run on the road, including 20-6 ATS as a road dog. They are also a good bounce-back team, going 11-5 ATS after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game. They match up well defensively against a run-oriented Baltimore offense that is second to last in passing yards (only the Jets are worse). The Ravens have lost three of seven home games this season and were favored in all three. The Ravens are 8-17 ATS at home after two or more ATS covers, while the Giants are 32-13 ATS on the road after gaining 75 or fewer rushing yards. Play New York.

The New York Giants have lost three straight and they're 1-3-1 ATS this season after a late touchdown got them a push at Green Bay on Sunday night. Baltimore has a new offensive coordinator in Marty Mornhinweg, which could mean a more wide-open offense for the Ravens. We've already seen what a change can do for an offense as Buffalo has won three in a row after Anthony Lynn took over the offense. The Ravens have covered the spread five of its last six road games dating to last season while the Giants are 1-4 ATS their last five home games. Eli Manning was 18-of-35 for 199 yards and a touchdown but was sacked four times against the Packers, who were plagued by dropped passes and penalties, which kept the game fairly close. Joe Flacco was 30-of-46 for 210 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's loss to Washington and the Ravens gained 118 yards on the ground for 6.1 yards per carry, led by Terrance West with 95 rushing yards.
