Baltimore at New Orleans

New Orleans had soared OVER four games in a row before beating Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders 24-0, but now the Saints have to face dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson, who in addition to throwing for 1,635 yards with 15 touchdowns has rushed for 553 yards and two TDs this season. The Saints have allowed 25.0 points per game and Baltimore scores 26.0 per contest. New Orleans is averaging 24.9 points and it is #3 in the NFL in total yards of offense (394.4 per game). The Ravens went OVER in their 27-22 win over Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Baltimore has gone OVER four of its past five Monday games and the Saints are 4-0 OVER after an ATS win. Also, the Saints are 11-4 OVER their past 15 games after they allowed fewer than 150 yards their previous game and Jackson will be a much bigger challenge than Carr. Andy Dalton will start for the Saints and he is averaging 235 passing yards per game with nine TDs and four interceptions. Play the OVER.

This one pits the unstoppable offense against the powerhouse defense! New Orleans is unbeaten on the road with a sizzling offense, scoring 40 points or more in three of its five games. QB Drew Brees (11 TDs, no picks) leads a dazzling attack that is tops in points scored (36 points per game), third in total yards and passing yards. New Orleans is rested too, and are 9-1 ATS when following a bye week and a 16-5 ATS run on the road. The Saints are also 44-20-1 ATS against winning teams, including 14-3 ATS away versus a team with a winning home record. They are a dog to a Baltimore offense that is regressing. The Ravens have scored 27, 26, 9 and 21 points the last four games. It's a tough situational spot for the home team as Baltimore is home after a three-game road trip. They've also played four of the last five weeks on the road. QB Joe Flacco has had 11 passes batted down at the line, which is tied for the league lead, and the last four games he has six TDs to four picks. The Ravens are 2-7-1 ATS when following a win of more than 14 points, so jump on the explosive first-place dog. Play New Orleans.

The Ravens have limited three NFL Preseason opponents to a grand total of 19 points or 6.3 points per game. They have also scored 22.3 ppg on offense. Sometimes the second tier talent is better than opponents, and the coach tends to want to keep the winning attitude and carry it forward to the regular season. While others coaches don't care about any of that, they just want a healthy team. The Saints are 2-1 and have had some success as well, but I think this is where they shut things down, closing on a 13-0 win during Week 3. I think the door is open for Baltimore to finish unblemished, and take on the regular season with a lot of positives. Take Baltimore to win straight-up.

John Harbaugh continues his preseason success with a 3-0 record both straight-up and ATS after a 30-9 win over Detroit. Harbaugh is now 23-12 SU and and 22-13 ATS in exhibition play. Joe Flacco made his first appearance and went 11-of-16 for 94 yards and no interceptions. Ryan Mallett also had a good game in completing 10-of-15 for 112 yards. Baltimore held the Lions to 226 total net yards and just 125 passing yards. New Orleans is 0-3 and showing no signs of having any interest in winning this preseason following a lackluster performance in a 27-14 loss to Pittsburgh in which the offensive line proved to be a problem. Drew Brees was 9-of-12 for 78 yards and Luke McCown was four-of-eight for 51 yards. Garrett Grayson was 14-of-23 for 128 yards but with two interceptions. Meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns against a struggling Saints secondary. New Orleans was 0-4 last year in preseason and got blown out 38-10 at Green Bay in Week Four. Baltimore has the advantage with quarterback depth with Flacco, Mallett and Josh Johnson and they're getting points. Take the points on the Ravens.
