This is not a good spot for winless Washington, getting outscored by an average of 26.5-11.5 this preseason. QB Colt McCoy has not been ready to play from day one, so Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins have combined for two TDs, two picks and six sacks. The ground attack has been terrible, getting 59 yards rushing last week and 82 yards (3.0 ypc) in the opener. Meanwhile, the defense has allowed 327 and 243 yards passing. Washington has scored three, 13, 20, 17, 10, 17 and 13 points its last seven preseason road games for an average of 12.85 points per game while losing five of them. Atlanta is home for the second straight week and has had an extra preseason contest after playing the Hall of Fame game. They have dynamite QB depth and experience with Matt Ryan, Matt Simms and Matt Schaub. Ryan made his first appearance of the preseason last Thursday (10-of-14, 118 yards) and three of those incomplete passes were drops by the receivers, including two that would have been touchdowns. Look for more time from the starters and a big bust-out by the home team. Play Atlanta.

Pro Picks
Washington at Atlanta
Washington is off a surprise division championship with little to prove this preseason, especially in Week 1 on the road. And let's face it: they really weren't that good in 2015, winning the division mainly because everyone else was broken down or bad. All that showed in their only playoff game, getting roasted at home by Green Bay. The Redskins enter this game with a weak QB rotation with no need to use starter Kirk Cousins much, and are stuck with Colt McCoy and rookie Nate Sudfeld as backups. Atlanta is home with plenty to prove after a hot start last year and an ice-cold finish. The QB rotation is deep/experienced with Matt Ryan, Matt Schaub and Sean Renfree. The offense finished seventh in the NFL in yards and adds WR Mohamed Sanu (Bengals) to help take the heat off WR Julio Jones (1,871 yards), a good pickup. The defense improved a lot under the new coaching staff. CB Jalen Collins has had himself a strong training camp and with CB Desmond Trufant sidelined, C.J. Goodwin has played plenty of reps at cornerback with the first-team defense. The wide receiver-turned-defensive back, who stands at 6-foot-3, has earned praise from Atlanta's coaching staff. The Falcons won both home preseason games last season, averaging 25.5 points per game and look improved. Take Atlanta.

Pro Picks
Washington at Atlanta
If you have seen any of the first four games by the Atlanta Falcons, this team has looked scary good offensively, and considerably improved defensively, leading to a 4-0 start. The Matt Ryan to Julio Jones combo right now is the best football has to offer. Jones has 38 catches for 478 yards already on the season. Ryan has also got Leonard Hankerson, and Roddy White to throw to and running back Devonta Freeman has a nose for the end-zone, scoring six TDs in the last two games alone. Washington has injury issues with Jordan Reed dealing with a concussion, and DeSean Jackson limited with a hamstring issue, and may not have enough weapons in the arsenal to stay with Atlanta. The Skins have been regularly inconsistent, now at 2-12 ATS following a spread win. This team is 12-24 ATS since the start of the 2013 season including 9-20 ATS as an underdog. Play on Atlanta.
