Atlanta Falcons vs Baltimore Ravens Point Spread Picks

John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens had a record 24-game preseason win streak, but that incredible trend appears to be over, as they have lost four of five since it ended while not covering the spread in any of them. The Ravens were 0-3 ATS in the 2023 preseason and lost in Game 1 this year 16-13 at home against Philadelphia. Jake Elliott made a 49-yard field goal and won the game for the Eagles after Ravens quarterback Emory Jones was sacked and fumbled in the final seconds. Baltimore used three QBs, with Josh Johnson, Devin Leary, and Jones combining for 10 of 22 passes for 82 yards and no TDs. Atlanta lost 20-13 to Miami, although Michael Penix Jr. made an impressive start in his first NFL game, throwing for 104 yards, including a 41-yard pass to Chris Blair in the first quarter on one of his five drives. Nathan Rourke and Taylor Heinicke were a combined 7-for-24 for 48 yards, and Rourke was released this week. Heinecke has extensive NFL experience, and Penix will likely get more snaps. The Ravens have gone OVER three of their past four preseason games, and they are 5-0 OVER in the second of back-to-back home preseason games. Take the Falcons on the moneyline and the OVER.

It is difficult to lay any amount of points with Baltimore let alone a touchdown as the Ravens haven't scored more than 27 points in any of their past 11 games and they come off a horrible offensive performance while losing 13-3 to Cleveland. Lamar Jackson is out and backup Tyler Huntley is probable with a right shoulder injury after completing 17 of 30 for 138 yards and no touchdowns with an interception against the Browns. The Ravens also will be without two key defensive starters, Calais Campbell and Marcus Peters. Baltimore is #27 in the league in passing yards per game and it averages 21.7 points and Atlanta 21.9 points per game on the season. Most of the Falcons' losses have been close, including 21-18 at New Orleans last week when they covered as a 5.5-point underdog. Marcus Mariota is out for the year and Desmond Ritter will make his second NFL start after keeping his team close against the Saints. Atlanta rushed for 231 yards with Tyler Allgeier getting 139 of them. The Ravens are 0-6-1 ATS their past seven home games and 0-5 UNDER their past five at home. The UNDER is 20-7 in the Ravens' past 27 games after allowing fewer than 15 points their previous game. Atlanta is 21-6 UNDER against teams with winning records. Take the Falcons and the UNDER.

Baltimore beat the lowly Raiders 34-17, but it was the first cover in five games for the Ravens, who have lost three of their last four outright. The other win was against the hapless Cincinnati Bengals. Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson finished 14-of-25 for 178 yards with two interceptions and the Ravens ran 43 times for 242 yards. Atlanta went UNDER for the third game in a row, losing at New Orleans 31-17 and the Falcons' defense actually did a decent job keeping the normally high-scoring Saints relatively in check. It's the offense that needs to get in gear after three straight losses while averaging 17.3 points. Jackson will be making his first road start in the same venue where he made his college debut for Louisville in 2015 against Auburn. The Ravens are 2-8-1 ATS their last 11 games after winning their previous game by at least two touchdowns and they have gone UNDER five of their last seven after an ATS win and five of seven versus teams with losing records.
