Arizona Cardinals vs Minnesota Vikings

Arizona is on a 5-2 SU/ATS run, winning four times as an underdog. The Cardinals have a balance on offense with QB Kyler Murray (12 TDs, 4 INTs) and RB James Conner. The offense averages 140.3 yards rushing and 5.2 yards per carry, and it is ranked eighth in the NFL in the red zone. The defense has allowed an average of 18.5 points over the last seven contests. Minnesota has won four in a row after defeating Miami 24-16 two weeks ago and then having a bye. Now the Vikings have a revenge game this week against Arizona, which beat them 34-33 in last year's meeting. Kirk Cousins finished 20 of 30 for 175 yards and two touchdowns with no picks against the Dolphins and he has completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 1,502 yards and nine TDs this season. The Cardinals are 3-4 and took advantage of several New Orleans miscues and beat the Saints 42-34 last Thursday night. The Cardinals had gone UNDER five straight before that game and they're averaging 22.3 points per game and the Vikings allow 19.7 while scoring 23.2. Kyler Murray threw for 204 yards and a TD, but carried only seven times for 30 yards against the Saints, who tried to keep it close despite Andy Dalton's three interceptions. Arizona is 4-9 ATS its past 13 games versus teams with winning records and 0-4-2 ATS the past six meetings. The UNDER is 20-7 in the Cardinals' last 27 road games and they are 19-7 UNDER after giving up at least 30 points their previous game. Arizona is dealing with several injuries on the offensive line. Minnesota comes off a close one, an OT loss at Cincinnati. QB Kirk Cousins lead a potent and balanced attack throwing for 351 yards. The Vikings are well-coached under Mike Zimmer and are 38-17 ATS after a defeat, 19-9 ATS after a road loss, and 27-10-1 ATS after getting less than 90 yards rushing in the last game. Arizona is in a difficult situational spot, home after playing on the East Coast at Tennessee. The Cardinals stacked the line to contain Tennessee star running back Derrick Henry, and it worked, but this is a different matchup as the Vikings can run with Dalvin Cook, or go play-action with the veteran Cousins. With Arizona 12-25 ATS at home after outgaining an opponent by 100+ total yards, look for a close one, and back the underdog. Play Minnesota.

Mike Zimmer just keeps winning in the preseason as Minnesota defeated Seattle 25-19 in Week 2 to improve Zimmer's preseason record to an incredible 19-4 straight-up and 16-7 ATS. Kyle Sloter completed 11-of-13 for 116 yards and a touchdown and Sean Mannion went 11-for-14 for 88 yards and Kirk Cousins finished 6-of-8 as all three QBs combined for 28-of-35 for 272 yards and a 106.2 QB rating. Also, the Vikings held the Seahawks to 221 yards of total offense and one of Seattle's scores was an 88-yard interception return by safety DeShawn Shead. In addition, Minnesota's offensive line performed well and that was a big question mark coming into the season. Arizona lost 33-26 to the Raiders in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated as the Cardinals fell behind 26-0 before making it respectable by outscoring Oakland 16-7 in the second half. Kyler Murray looked totally out of his league completing only 3-of-8 for 12 yards and was sacked twice, including once for a safety. Brett Hundley was 10-of-15 for 139 yards and a touchdown and QBs Charles Kanoff and Drew Anderson finished up for Arizona. Murray will likely play more this week as he needs all the experience he can get, but based on last week's game, it looks bleak against the Minnesota defense. Play the Vikings and the UNDER.

Arizona finally found some offense and won its first game of the season by defeating San Francisco 28-18 and it went OVER by 5.5 points. However, the Cardinals were outyarded 447-220 and C.J. Beathard, of all people, threw for 349 yards on 34-of-54 passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions.  Arizona also was helped by three lost fumbles by the 49ers, who gained 147 yards on the ground on 4.3 yards per carry. Rookie QB Josh Rosen finished 10-of-25 for 170 yards and a touchdown and no interceptions. Minnesota took a 20-6 lead into the fourth quarter and held on to beat Philadelphia 23-21 and Kirk Cousins enjoyed his best game of the season so far, completing 30-of-37 for 301 yards with a touchdown and no picks. Not counting the Vikings' inexplicable loss to Buffalo, they are averaging 26.8 points in their other four games and Minnesota is allowing 26.2 points overall. The Cardinals have gone OVER 14 of their last 20 road games and they have also soared OVER in nine of their last 11 games on artificial turf. Arizona's defense is #22 in the NFL in total yards allowed #31 in rushing yards allowed. Take this game to go OVER the total.
