No team enters the NBA playoffs on a hotter run than the Nuggets. Denver has won 12 in a row. Minnesota is 9-10 in its last 19 games and is facing the top offense in the NBA. Denver led the league in scoring at 123.6 points a game. The Nuggets also ranked No. 1 in 3-point shooting, No. 2 in field goal percentage, and No. 5 in free-throw percentage. Nikola Jokic is firmly in the MVP hunt again, having led the NBA in both rebounds and assists per game while averaging 27.7 points per game, eighth highest in the league. Jamal Murray had a great year, too, for Denver, averaging 25.4 points per game and shooting 43.5 percent from 3-point range. Minnesota is the better defensive team, but can't match Denver's firepower. The Timberwolves haven't been nearly as consistent either. Their star scorer, Anthony Edwards, has played in only three games since mid-March because of a right knee injury. Edwards is going to play here, but his effectiveness could be hampered.
