The injury news is encouraging that Anthony Edwards will play for Minnesota today against Dallas. Edwards is the third leading scorer in the NBA, averaging 29.5 points a game. He has missed the past six games due to knee soreness. Edwards needs to play in all of Minnesota's eight remaining games to reach the 65-game threshold for All-NBA eligibility. Even if Edwards misses this game, Minnesota still should cover. The Timberwolves are 3-0 vs. Dallas this season with an average winning margin of 16 points. Each of their victories against the Mavericks was by double digits. Dallas has lost 12 consecutive home games, going 2-9-1 ATS in those contests. Dallas is 24-50 on the season. Minnesota is 45-29 and is a game and a half behind Denver for the fourth seed in the Western Conference. The Timberwolves should enter this matchup in an angry mood after losing to the Pistons, 109-87, at home this past Saturday. Minnesota had impressive victories against the Rockets and Celtics prior to the loss to Detroit. They should be refocused here with or without Edwards. Dallas may not have its full intensity after halting a five-game losing skid with a road victory over Portland as a double-digit underdog this past Friday. Take the Timberwolves.
