With all their draft choices, and talent, the Boston Celtics were supposed to be better than 5-5 to start the season. They have a lot of interchangeable players, and a deep roster, but outside of Thomas no one has emerged as a star. Dallas has taken a step back at 2-7, but this is a team that has had a lot of success over the years in this spot. The Mavericks have been a magical road team for the last eight years, where they have compiled a 147-108-3 ATS record as long as they were not a -4.5 point favorite or more. The Celtics started the season shooting the ball well but have dropped four of their last six, and have failed to shoot 44% in each of their last four - a dangerous omen for a chalky favorite.
