Atlanta defeated Washington, 117-114, on Friday for its fifth win in seven games, and the Hawks did it even with a bad shooting night as they hit only 42% overall. However, they made 28 of 34 free throws compared to eight of nine for the Wizards, who shot 54%. De'Andre Hunter and Trae Young combined for 51 points for the Hawks, who won the only meeting of the season so far against Detroit, 122-104, in October. Now that Detroit has a lottery pick locked up, the Pistons have eased up on tanking and have won five of their last seven. However, Detroit is 18-37-2 ATS in its last 57 games after a win and 3-7-1 ATS playing with two days rest, and the Pistons haven't won three in a row in nearly three years.
