Memphis Grizzlies vs Miami Heat Point Spread Picks

Quietly, the Grizzlies have covered six of their last seven games, including the past four. They have done this without injured Ja Morant, lending credence to the belief that they are a better defensive and point spread team without their most dominant player and that they are more team-oriented. That showed last night when eight of the nine Grizzlies who played reached double figures in a 123-114 home win against the Jazz. Yes, the Jazz are tanking. But Utah did upset Miami, 115-111, during the Heat's last home game. That was back on Feb. 9. The Heat could be distracted, having not played at home for so long. Miami is also playing without rest. The Heat beat the Hawks, 128-97, last night in Atlanta. That was their fourth UNDER in their last five games. Tyler Herro scored 24 points to lead Miami. Herro had missed the last 15 games due to a rib injury and returned with a flak jacket. It remains to be seen if Miami will hold him out of this back-to-back spot. Miami covered its opener, losing a close one at Orlando, winning the rebounding battle, nailing 12 treys, and shooting over 48%. The offense is upgraded with newcomer Norman Powell, who had 28 points in the opener, while Erik Spoelstra is a fine coach, one who knows how to teach defense. Miami is on a 14-7 ATS run, including 5-2 ATS on the road. Memphis still prefers to run under coach Tuomas Iisalo, who gets the full-time nod after being an interim late last season. They nudged New Orleans in the opener, 128-122, despite 17 turnovers. Memphis is on an 11-25-1 spread run, including 6-12 ATS at home. Play Miami. 

The Miami Heat are rolling as we head towards the playoffs. The Heat's 124-103 win last night in Boston opened some eyes, marking their sixth straight-up win in a row, and eighth straight ATS. Memphis is suddenly in a three-way tie for the #6 seed in the West, mired in a four-game losing streak. The Grizzlies have lost seven of eight, and they are 3-16 ATS in their last 19 games.
