Golden State Warriors vs Philadelphia 76ers Point Spread Picks

Jimmy Butler is out for the season, and Stephen Curry won't play today. But the Warriors are worth backing, being in a dream situational spot. Golden State has been idle since this past Friday. The 76ers beat the Clippers, 128-113, last night in Los Angeles. Not only will the 76ers be playing without rest, but this will be their third game in four days and their sixth in eight days. Joel Embiid logged more than 32 minutes against the Clippers last night. The superstar center has yet to play in consecutive games all season. So it's highly likely he sits. Paul George is suspended. Golden State is 7-3 in its last 10 home games. The three games the Warriors lost to at home during this span were against the Pistons, Raptors and Thunder. All three of those teams have a better record than the 76ers. Golden State also hasn't forgotten about a last-second, 99-98, loss suffered to the 76ers on the road earlier this season. It's official in Philadelphia. The 76ers are shutting Joel Embiid down for the rest of the season as they try to put a plan together for treating his chronic knee. The Philadelphia offense will feel the impact, as Embiid could score 20-30 points a night without exerting much energy. In the last six games, the 76ers offense has been snoozing. Philadelphia has averaged 103.5ppg in the six contests, which is the bottom of the barrel in today's NBA. Golden St. attempted just 79 shots last game, but it went OVER the total because Stephen Curry dropped 56. The Warriors last eight games has seen their opponents average just 106ppg. I see a lot of negative offense between these teams in recent games, and I like the UNDER in this one.

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a tough time keeping players on the court. They are finally getting healthy and are slowly working their way up the standings in the NBA East. Philadelphia is 10-4 in their last 14 games after starting the season a woeful 3-14. Golden St. has been just a .500 team on the season at 16-16. If the season ended today the Warriors would be the #10 and final seed in the West in the play in round. The Warriors have done little on their home court where they are 8-8 on the season.
