Golden State Warriors vs Memphis Grizzlies Point Spread Picks

Golden State is vulnerable to having bad offensive games without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Kristaps Porzingis. That certainly was the case last night in New Orleans. The Warriors lost to the Pelicans, 113-109. Golden State was just 11-of-45 (24.4%) from 3-point range and committed 21 turnovers. The Warriors will have to continue relying on unheralded players such as Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, and Gui Santos, as Curry and Porzingis remain out while Butler is sidelined for the season. Memphis remains without its top offensive player, Ja Morant. He’s out with an elbow injury. The two teams met on Feb. 9, and Golden State won, 114-113, at home. The Warriors shot 53% from the floor, and Memphis made 51% of its field goals. Highly doubtful those teams shoot as well as they did in that game. The Grizzlies rank 17th in defensive field goal percentage. The Warriors are 11th defensively and eighth in 3-point defense. Take the UNDER. 

The Grizzlies played their best defensive game of the season in a 128-103 win against the Pacers this past Saturday. Expect carryover from that game with Memphis hitting the road for the first time this season. The Grizzlies closed last season going UNDER in seven of their previous eight away games. Memphis is likely to play slower than usual since this is its third game in four days. Golden State closed last year's regular season going UNDER in six of its previous seven home games that finished in regulation. Warriors coach Steve Kerr should have his team prepared defensively following an embarrassing 139-119 road loss to the Trail Blazers this past Friday in their last game. That game came the night after the Warriors defeated the Nuggets, 137-131, in overtime at home. The timing for this matchup should be much better for Golden State's defense, as the Warriors had the weekend to prepare. Neither team is at full strength in the frontcourt. Memphis has several injuries, and Al Horford won't play for Golden State because of a toe injury. That means fewer easy inside baskets. Memphis ranks 27th in 3-point shooting and could be tired. The Warriors have to keep something in reserve since they host the Clippers on Tuesday. Take the UNDER. 

Memphis has won four of six after destroying Dallas 132-97 in the regular-season finale with Lamar Stevens leading six double-figure scorers with 31 points for the Grizzlies. Golden State is 1-4 ATS its past five home games and it comes off an exhausting 124-119 overtime loss to the Clippers on Sunday while the Grizzlies cruised to an easy victory while limiting player minutes. The Warriors were outrebounded 42-25 by the Clippers and Memphis leads the NBA in offensive rebounds. The Warriors have gone UNDER four of six overall and six of eight against Southwest Division teams. Memphis has gone UNDER five road games in a row and four of six overall. The Grizzlies are 22-19 straight up on the road and Golden State is just 18-22-1 ATS at home. Take the Grizzlies ATS, and bet the UNDER.
