Memphis has lost five in a row and resembles a MASH unit, with Ja Morant and Zach Edey on the shelf. A lack of depth has dropped this team to 18th in second-half scoring at 56.5 PPG. These teams are both in the bottom third defensively for points allowed, but neither has the roster to take advantage. Dallas is also at the tail end of a brutal road trip. The depth has been needed, given the many injuries. While Memphis is working on one day of rest, this is the second of a back-to-back for the Mavs. Dallas is also dealing with injuries, on a 2-11 slide. Cooper Flagg (20.4 ppg) has missed five in a row (foot sprain), plus P.J. Washington (14.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and Daniel Gafford (8 ppg) are still out. The Mavericks have a losing home record, coming off a home loss to the Kings last night, falling behind 42-28 in the first quarter, as a 7.5-point favorite. Play Memphis on the moneyline.

The Dallas Mavericks seem to have some issues stemming from decisions by the head honchos that have created a power struggle. It has led to a chaotic 5-12 start to the season. The offense has been poor as the Mavs have shot 40% or less in 7 of their 17 games. There are rumored trade talks, and it appears they are contributing to the poor start. Memphis has its own issues. Memphis hosted Sacramento in its last game, looking to break a 5-game losing streak. They came away with a 137-96 blowout win. It's just what they needed to have a good chance to win in Dallas.
