Charlotte has scored at least 123 points in more than half of these past 11 away games. Sacramento gives up 121 points per game, third-worst in the NBA. The Kings have the second-worst defensive field goal percentage, too. Sacramento won its second straight game, coming from 20 points down to beat the Pacers, 114-109, at home last night. The Kings defeated the Bulls at home in their previous game. Even with those victories, the Kings are just 16-50 and 4-19 in their last 23 games. The Hornets are a major step up for the Kings, especially with how well Charlotte has been playing. The Hornets overcame a 19-point deficit to beat the Trail Blazers, 103-101, at Portland last night. Charlotte has covered in eight of the past nine meetings against teams with losing records. Take the Hornets. 

The Charlotte Hornets have had a bad season, and at 19-57, they are just 2.5 games from last place in the East. This team averages just 106ppg on their home floor. Worse than that, the injury report shows six players who have combined to average 86ppg are either missing from the lineup or questionable. Sacramento holds the 10th and final play-in spot in the West, but their lead over Phoenix is a tenuous one game. The Kings can score by bringing six players who average 10 or more points per game into the contest. This should be a layup for the Kings against a bad team with major injury issues and nothing to play for. Make the play on Sacramento.

The Charlotte Hornets are struggling once again at 8-26 on the season. They have had just one winning season since 2015, and that is not going to end this season. There is some good news. Charlotte is obviously out of favor with bettors, but as poor as the record is, consider the fact that Charlotte has lost just one home game by 8 or more points since November 18. The Kings are on a five-game road trip to the East, and opened with an easy win at Detroit. I don't see the Kings expended a whole lot of energy here, as their next two games are huge vs. Philadelphia and Milwaukee. The Hornets have covered three of their last four at home taking +7 or more points, and I like them tonight. Make the play on Charlotte.
