Washington at St. Louis

The Washington Nationals are 37-53 on the season, and 17 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East. Washington has struggled with a weak rotation, and they are currently in the midst of a meltdown. They were swept by Boston, who outscored them 27-9 in the three-game set. This is a staff that has surrendered 70 runs in their last nine games, or nearly eight runs per contest. St. Louis is a playoff contender at 48-43 on the season. They have struggled on the road (22-26), but the Cards are 26-17 at home. St. Louis has thrived against weaker teams, posting an 8-2 home record this season. I'm backing the Cardinals.
