New York comes off an 8-0 win on Tuesday, which is twice as many runs as the Mets scored in their previous three games. Juan Soto hit a two-run homer that capped a seven-run fourth inning, and Bo Bichette homered and drove in two runs. Soto recently returned from the injured list, and the Mets hope this will be a sign of turning things around. Washington hasn't fared much better, at 13-17, and has lost four of six. The Nationals are 2-12 in the past 14 meetings at Citi Field and 6-14 in the past 20 meetings overall. David Peterson will get another shot as a starter after pitching well in two appearances out of the bullpen. Washington hitters have only four extra-base hits against Peterson in 85 at-bats.
