Washington at Los Angeles

Los Angeles has the higher-scoring roster in this matchup, and Washington isn't built to slow anyone down on the mound, which is the whole case for the total tonight. Andrew Alvarez has a 4.06 ERA and hasn't finished the fifth inning in three of his last five turns, a pattern that keeps handing the ball to a Nationals bullpen that's already stretched thin most nights. Justin Wrobleski has been excellent for the season at large, but his last two turns have gotten away from him, one of them a seven-run outing, and I'm not ready to bet on him snapping back to form in one night against a Washington lineup that's scoring at a healthy clip of its own. Both of these teams are averaging right around five runs a game, and neither pitching staff is stingy enough to make that a coincidence. I had the OVER on this same Dodgers lineup two nights ago and it landed right on the number, and tonight's total has crept up half a run higher while the underlying scoring hasn't slowed down at all. Go with the OVER tonight.
