Washington at Cleveland

The Nationals are a dangerous 28-27 on the season because of their offense. They lead the majors in runs scored at 5.4 per game. Washington has a great combination of speed and power, ranking fourth in homers and stolen bases. Cleveland starter Joey Cantillo has a respectable 3.05 ERA, but some of his metrics point to regression, such as a 4.15 fielding independent, 4.3 walks allowed per nine innings, and a 1.32 ratio. The Guardians just put Erik Sabrowski, their top setup man, on the injured list because of an elbow injury. Sabrowski has a 1.71 ERA. Washington starter Cade Cavalli has a 3.86 ERA. But he hasn't allowed more than three earned runs during any of his past seven starts. Cleveland ranks below average in many of the major offensive categories, including 24th in batting average.
