Washington at Atlanta

Atlanta has an outstanding offense. But the Braves do not lead the majors in runs scored. That honor goes to the Nationals, who are averaging 5.4 runs per game. This makes the Nationals dangerous no matter who they are playing, which is why they are 12-9 in their last 21 games as underdogs. Atlanta just nipped Washington, 5-4, in 11 innings yesterday. Even with that loss, the Nationals still are an impressive 15-11 on the road. Atlanta starter Grant Holmes has a 3.80 ERA. Washington starter Jake Irvin has a 5.59 ERA, but a career 3.98 ERA in eight starts against the Braves. This is not a big pitching edge for the Braves. The value here is with the Nationals.
