Arizona is holding onto second place in the NL West just 1 1/2 games behind Los Angeles and the Diamondbacks come off a 12-7 win over Texas on Wednesday when Christian Walker hit a three-run homer plus a solo shot and drew a bases-loaded walk for the Diamondbacks. Merrill Kelly is on the mound for Arizona and he has given his team five or six solid innings this season while allowing 11 earned runs in 32 1/3 innings and the Diamondbacks won his last outing 9-1 over Colorado as he allowed one run on six hits in six innings. Arizona has won four of the past five meetings and the Nationals are 39-92 their past 131 games versus opponents with winning records and 18-40 against teams that scored at least five runs their previous game and the Diamondbacks have scored 31 runs their past four games.
