Toronto has suddenly become a playoff contender, winning seven of its last eight games following a three-game sweep of the Cardinals, including Wednesday's 5-2 victory. Ernie Clement was the hero as he homered, doubled, and singled for the Blue Jays, who have moved into second place in the AL East. Philadelphia has lost six of its eight games, and in half of those games, it didn't score more than one run. The Blue Jays have won Kevin Gausman's past four starts, and they have won five straight after allowing two or fewer runs in their previous game. The Phillies are 2-10 in Ranger Suarez's past 12 starts after scoring at least five runs in their last game, and 1-6 in his past seven starts against teams with winning records.
