The Athletics have won five of eight following their 8-2 victory over the Guardians on Saturday when Shea Langeliers, Jacob Wilson and Nick Kurtz homered in the final two innings. Cleveland actually has a worse home record (21-24) than on the road (26-26) and it has lost eight of its past nine home contests. The Guardians are 0-5 in Gavin Williams' past five starts after they scored two or fewer runs their previous game. Jeffrey Springs has only allowed eight earned runs his past five outings in 30 1/3 innings pitched and the Athletics won four of them, including 6-3 over Toronto last Sunday. Springs faced the Guardians once this year and gave up a run on three hits in 7 1/3 innings. Take the Athletics.
