A lot of eyes will be focused on A.J. Burnett in this one as he has really had a horrible year overall. But looking back at last year, the issues are the same. His last 12 starts saw him allow 6 runs or more four times, and the worries were everywhere. He calmly took the hill for three games in New York during the postseason, allowing just 4 runs in three starts, covering 19.1 innings while striking out 19. That was good for an ERA of 1.86. Burnett won't be remembered for his regular season this year if he comes out with the electric performance he had in his three Stadium starts a year ago. That's all that will matter and he has proven that he has it in him. Tommy Hunter has had a good season, but he has never pitched at Yankees Stadium. In October, this is a tough animal to take down since the Rangers are just 3-7 in his last 10 road starts vs. a team with a winning record. The Yanks were dominated last night, but that is when they have truly been at their best as they are 50-17 when their opponent allowed 2 runs or less in their previous game. It is going to be really chilly in New York tonight, giving the edge to the pitchers. The Rangers have also played 6-1-1 to the UNDER as a playoffs underdog in their last six. They have also played to a 6-2 UNDER mark in their last eight vs. a right-hand starter. The Yankees have been an UNDER machine behind Burnett as a home favorite at 20-8-2, and are also 7-2-1 to the UNDER in their last 10 home playoffs games. The Yankees win and the total stays UNDER.
