Texas at New York

Texas has come from nowhere in the past few weeks, and now the Rangers are within two games of a wild-card spot after winning their fifth consecutive game last night. They scored six times in the first inning and defeated the Mets 8-3 for the Rangers' fifth win in seven road games. New York is in free fall, having lost its seventh in a row, and the Mets are in danger of missing the playoffs. New York's pitching has fallen apart as it has allowed 34 runs in four games. Patrick Corbin has shown some inconsistency recently for Texas, but he comes off a 4-2 win against Houston when he gave up a run on three hits in 5 2/3 innings. Brandon Sproat held the Reds hitless through 5 1/3 innings in his MLB debut, but the Mets lost 3-2. New York has scored just 18 runs during the losing streak. Take the Rangers.
