Texas at Houston

Texas had a four-game win streak snapped yesterday, but the Rangers still have climbed into third place in the AL West after recently sweeping the Angels in a three-game series. Martin Perez will start tonight, and he has a 2.01 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP this season, and he has yet to allow a home run in 40 1/3 innings. Texas has won his last three starts, including 7-1 over Boston on Sunday when Perez gave up one run on five hits in six innings. Perez already has faced Houston once this year and allowed one run on two hits in seven innings. Cristian Javier is on the mound for Houston, and he was touched for seven runs on eight hits in only 3 2/3 innings his last outing against Washington.
