Texas at Detroit

Neither of these teams is going anywhere this season, and they are turning towards the future. Detroit has given Tarik Skubal ample opportunity, but he has yet to be even mediocre. Skubal has made 26 big league starts, and opponents have averaged 5.3 runs per contest. There is a feeling, however, he is starting to come around. Skubal went through a period where the Tigers lost 10 straight when he started, but since then they are 7-3, and in none of the 10 games has an opponent scored more than five runs. The Rangers can't say the same about Dane Dunning as they are a woeful 4-12 in his last 16 starts. I see the Tigers at home, as the better team and a sizeable advantage on the hill. Make the play on Detroit.
