St. Louis at Pittsburgh

St. Louis is fighting for a playoff spot and currently 4 1/2 games behind in the wild-card race and the Cardinals come off a 4-3 win on Friday as Tommy Edman hit a two-run homer and a sacrifice fly. Pittsburgh has played a little better lately, but the Pirates still are solidly in last place in the NL Central and only 27-37 at home this season. Ageless Adam Wainwright, who will turn 40 on Monday, will start for the Cardinals and he is 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA and he shut out the Pirates on two hits in eight innings on Sunday. Wainwright has faced Pittsburgh three times this year and allowed just one run on 10 hits in 23 innings and St. Louis has won six of his past seven starts. Steven Brault has given up three runs on 10 hits in nine innings versus St. Louis this season. The Cardinals are 22-4 the past 26 meetings at Pittsburgh. Take the Cardinals.
