St. Louis at Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Phillies won more regular season games than any other team, finishing with 102 wins. The Cardinals came from nowhere to sneak past the Braves for the wildcard spot in the NL. That sets the stage for game one in Philadelphia. The Phillies are here in large part due to their outstanding pitching, and it doesn't get much better than Roy Halladay at the top. The Phillies won 75% of all games started by Halladay, and 80% of all his home starts. In NLDS series game ones over the last eight years with a home favorite of -190 or higher have resulted in the home favorite not only winning seven of eight, but winning on the runline in seven of eight as well. The Cardinals are at a huge pitching disadvantage here behind Kyle Lohse who has been awful in this spot, as the Cards are showing a money-burning 3-13 mark when he starts on the road vs. a winning team.
