The LA Dodgers have an enormous payroll, and that has bought a very talented team. They have easily handled the St. Louis Cardinals in the first two games of this series as they have outscored thm 13-4. That may sound good but it has historically been a bad spot for early season teams. A team playing in game three that won the first two as a home favorite and are once again are a home favorite are a woeful 24-32, and carry the baggage of a -31.6% ROI. The Cardinals certainly don't look poised to win after getting shelled in two straight, but there seems to be an extra focus starting 0-2 under these circumstances, while the 2-0 team plays flat.
