We were in this same runline spot with the Cardinals Sunday in Arizona, and even when the bullpen turned a comfortable lead into a nail-biter, the number held and it cashed. St. Louis has dropped the first two games of this series to a lowly Angels club, but neither loss has been a laugher, and Hunter Dobbins gets the ball today after being recalled from Triple-A for a spot start. He's a small sample so far this season, but the strikeout stuff has missed bats more than his ERA suggests. Reid Detmers takes the mound for Los Angeles carrying a losing record and an ERA pushing past four, numbers that fit an Angels team that has struggled to put together complete games all year even while it's found a way to win this series so far. St. Louis has the deeper roster and the better bullpen in this matchup, and I don't need St. Louis to salvage the series outright, just to keep this one inside the number. St. Louis wins on the runline.
