St. Louis was desperate for a win last night. Although it took 16 innings to get it, they have to get a lift from it heading into this afternoon's contest to close out their series with Cincinnati. The win has the Cardinals just one game out in the NL Central, and a win here could move them within a half a game as Pittsburgh is off today. Lance Lynn has healthy numbers against Cincinnati, where he is 3-0 on his career with a 3.55 ERA. Tony Cingrani has been big for the Reds, but the Cards did solve him for 5 walks 3 runs, in five innings in his only appearance against him. St. Louis has stepped up to the challenge against pitchers with a WHIP of below 1.15, where they are 29-13 in their last 42. St. Louis is also 5-0 behind Lynn against Cincinnati the last five times he started against them. Go with St. Louis.
