The St. Louis Cardinals have been MLB's best team as we approach the All-Star break. The Cardinals are currently 54-28 on the season, and appear to be on their way to a 100-win season. The Cards have dominated with their pitching, but tonight the Cubs have an opening as they will face Tim Cooney who has a 5.40 ERA in limited appearances since being recalled from AAA Memphis. Dallas Beeler has yet to record a win, but does own a 3.27 ERA, and his last home start was a six inning 0 run effort vs. Washington. St. Louis doesn't have too many weaknesses in their rotation, but the opening is there tonight for the Cubs, who have won their last four at home vs. a left hander. Play on Chicago in game two.
