St. Louis at Arizona

St. Louis came through with a 9-7 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday as Paul Goldschmidt enjoyed his return to Chase Field with a two-run homer and Yadier Molina added a two-run home run. It was the Cardinals' sixth consecutive win and they moved 3 1/2 games ahead of Milwaukee in the NL Central and eliminated Arizona from postseason action. Jack Flaherty goes tonight for St. Louis and he comes in with a 2.96 ERA and .200 opponent batting average and the Cardinals have won seven of his last 10 starts, including 5-4 over the Cubs on Thursday when he allowed just a run on three hits in eight innings. Flaherty has been sensational since the All-Star break with a 6-2 record while giving up only 10 earned runs in 85 1/3 innings.
