Seattle at Toronto

The Mariners are the only current major league team never to reach the World Series. That wait is going to continue. The Blue Jays took two of three games at Seattle and now return home on the verge of reaching their first World Series since 1993. Toronto is 56-29 at home this season, up nearly 21 net units. The Blue Jays' 54 home victories were the most in the American League. The Blue Jays are averaging 6.7 runs in their past eight home games. The pitching matchup is Logan Gilbert versus Trey Yesavage. Gilbert was far less effective on the road with a 4.74 ERA compared to a 2.24 ERA when throwing at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Yesavage has looked like a pro after being promoted to the majors in mid-September. The 21-year-old rookie went 1-0 with a 3.21 ERA in three starts covering 14 innings. He had 16 strikeouts. Yesavage followed the regular season up by throwing 5 1/3 innings of no-hit ball with 11 strikeouts and one walk in Game 2 of the ALDS, which was a 13-7 Blue Jays blowout of the Yankees. So the stage is not too big for Yesavage. He has proven that. Take the Blue Jays.
