Once again things have soured for the Seattle Mariners as they are a woeful 2-9 over their last 11 games. The pitching staff is getting pounded, and the mediocre pen is over-worked, as they have combined to allow 69 runs in the 11 games, or 6.3 per contest. When you're allowing over 6 runs a game, and you have only scored 7 or more nine times, it leads to a lot of disappointing endings. It won't be any easier behind Joe Saunders who is 3-5 with a 6.09 ERA on the season, and an even worse 0-4 mark with an 11.25 ERA on the road. Eric Stults has pitched well at home and has allowed 1 run in each of hs last two home starts. THe M's carry more baggage into this one with a not-so pretty 75-154 mark in their last 229 games as a road dog. The Padres are an impressive 56-17 in their last 73 as a favorite of -151 to -200, and Stults has delivered five wins in his last six home starts. Play the Padres on the runline.
