Seattle at Oakland

The Oakland A's have dominated the AL West for the last 2+ years, winning the last two, but suddenly find themselves with no answers and facing adversity for the first time, and quite frankly they are not dealing with it well. Manager Ned Yost proclaimed after another loss, "That is not us." He seems as frustraed as the players who have now gone 6-14 in their last 20 games. The offense has gone stone cold scoring three runs or less in 13 of those 20 games, and managed just four total runs while getting swept by Los Angeles in their last four. The pitching has also become a new problem, allowing 4+ runs in 11 of their last 16. Seattle is 37-26 on the road and is now closer to Oakland than the A's are from Los Angeles. The M's are a perfect 6-0 in Young's last six starts and have won 16 of their last 22 on the road vs. a winning team. The A's, just 1-7 in Hammel's last eight starts, continue to struggle.
