2010 Season MLB Baseball Past Picks
July 03, 2010
Seattle at Detroit
Saturday 07/03 07:05 PM Eastern
2 units on Detroit -1.5 runs +120 (runline) (risk 2 to return 2) RESULT: WIN
The road woes of the Mariners go deeper than the 13-27 record they have put up on the season. They are a team of two pitchers - Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez. When you put anyone else on the mound on the road, the results are almost guaranteed that the Mariners will get thumped. Seattle has managed just five road wins all season without those two pitchers getting the starting nod. The Tigers are 9-2 behind Verlander in his last 11 home starts, and he always pitches strong in Detroit. The last eight wins Verlander has posted have been no-contests. The Tigers have outscored the opponent by a 50-17 count. I expect a similar result in this one and will go with Detroit on the runline.
