The Kansas City Royals saw their nine game winning streak come to a screeching halt last night as they blown away by San Francisco 7-1. While the Royals have caught lightning in a bottle, they are now behind the eight ball as they trail in the series 0-1, and this adds a lot of pressure for game two to a young team that hasn't faced the bright lights of a World Series. San Francisco is now 31-11 in their last 42 postseason games, all coming in the last five years and are a seasoned group under the bright lights. They are also unfazed on the road, where they are 17-5 in their last 22 postseason road tilts. Jake Peavy wore out his welcome in Boston when the Red Sox lost nine straight with him on the mound. His debut with San Francisco was more of the same, dropping his first three, making his team 0-12. He has now led his team to a 9-2 record in his last 11 starts, allowing 11 total runs in the process. Yordano Ventura left game two of the ALCS with shoulder stiffness, and what he has remains to be seen. His last four trips to the mound have not been successful. In three starts and one relief appearance he has yielded 11 runs in 17 innings. Peavy shows hidden value here as he has far exceeded the record he has put up on the season. Take San Francisco in game two.
