San Diego at Miami

The Miami Marlins certainly missed Jose Fernandez a year ago, but he has picked up right where he left off. Fernandez has been nearly automatic at home, where he owns a career 15-0 record backed by an ERA of a scant 1.19. This has all occurred in 23 starts. James Shields is 8-4 with a 3.77 ERA on the season, numbers that don't look too bad, until you start digging deeper. Shields was 7-0 at one time, and has won just one time in his last 10 starts. San Diego has had two cracks at Fernandez in Miami, and in 14.2 innings, they have yet to score a run. The Marlins own a 20-3 record behind Fernandez at home, and have won 11 of 13 as home chalk of late. Make the play on Miami.
