The San Diego Padres made a lot of moves this off season to improve the team both in pitching and offense, but they have really not gotten much out of their investements thus far. The Padres have dropped four straight games, including the first two in this series, and overall they are now 1-7 in their last eight to fall to four games under .500. The Dodgers have things rolling, and their 26-16 mark is best in the NL as we pass the quarter-pole of the season. The Padres addressed improving the offense, but they have scored one run or less in five of their last eight, and a sixth game saw them plate just two runs. They have allowed just four runs in the two games this series, but own two losses. The Dodgers are now 40-16 in their last 56 as a home favorite, including 22-4 when the total is 7-8.5.
