It has been almost two years since Jon Garland pitched in a Major League game, but the pitching desperate Rockies have given him a shot and inserted him into the rotation. Tyson Ross had a great spring, posting a 2.42 ERA in 22+ innings of work, and allowed just 17 hits. He certainly looks like a better choice than Garland who still has a lot to prove. The Rockies got a strong effort on the mound last night, but that has been a bad sign, as they are 21-45 in their last 66 games after allowing 2 or less in their previous game, and have a 4-13 mark in their last 17 within the division. Go with San Diego in this one.
